El Teleférico de Madrid
If you want to see a city, sometimes the best view is from above. We hoped on el Teleférico de Madrid to see some of the city from a new vantage point.

I've been fortunate in my life to travel a lot. Recently, I've taken trips to Spain and Japan. While there, I always take a ton of photos! My blog features stories and photos from my travels as well as posts regarding other aspects of my life. My blog is a reflection of my interests and my current state of mind. Oh, and I'll update it with some design projects too, haha! Be sure to check out my portfolio if you get the chance and leave comments on my posts!

We’d planned to go to Chamartín market but sadly it was closed – it isn’t opened on Sundays. We still visited a bakery nearby, helped a couple move their car, which had broken down, out of the street, and headed back to El Mercado de San Miguel.

This place is a wonderful stop if you are hungry, want to take some wonderful photos, or want to see how the locals handle tapas. Once you see this post, you’ll be sure to check out El Mercado next time you’re in Spain!

! We visited Lena for a late lunch, toured the many shops located near La Puerta del Sol, spent some time in La Plaza Mayor, and of course, went to El Mercado de San Miguel. What a great first day back in Spain!
Having only half a day in Tokyo left, I decided to go to Shibuya again. But it was awesome to see this city during the day. Visiting Tokyu Food Show was awesome! So much good food and the smell was heavenly! But sadly, my trip to Japan came to an end, but it was full of memories!

And what’s more…it is right behind the Harajuku JR Station. Make sure to check this place out, it is very peaceful, you’ll feel like you are no where near Tokyo!

Well I decided to go to Harajuku and check out what I’d heard was a great area for shopping and finding a lot of different styles of clothing, music, people all amassed in one area. To me, one of the places that most embodied this was Laforet which has 6 floors and so many different vendors that cater to all the different styles and sub-cultures that can be found in Tokyo.

Well I did, and the fact that I came back at night was even better: more lights, sounds, and people. Oh, and trying takoyaki (たこ焼き) for the first time on my trip was a great addition too! I’d never had takoyaki with so many ingredients on top…not to mention the shocker of the night…Katsuobushi! hahaha

The fact that it is right by Tokyo Tower makes it a nice tranquil spot to get away from city life…although you quickly remember where you are once you step right outside the temple complex. After seeing the Zojoji Temple, I headed out to Ryōgoku, an area in Sumida known for Sumo Wrestling. In fact, I was able to go into the Ryōgoku Kokugikan (indoor sumo arena) to watch a few matches of the 2009 September Grand Sumo Tournament.
